Carbohydrates

Carbohydrates provide us with most of our energy. Examples include:

  • Wholemeal bread

  • Potatoes

  • Pasta

  • Brown rice

Simple carbohydrates should only be eaten in moderation, such as:

Cakes

Pastries

Processed bread

Fibre

Fibre helps keep healthy bowels and remove waste products from the body.

Examples of foods high in fibre are:

  • Fruits

  • Vegetables

  • Wholemeal bread

  • Nuts
